about the game 
yume nikki ( dream diary ) is a video game where you are in the perspective of a girl named madotsuki , who is a hikkomori , and is not able to leave her room. in the game , you discover and explore her dream world. yume nikki has been one of my favourite games of all time , because of its uniquely made worlds , and soundtracks by kikiyama ^_^ as well , it does not have a fixed meaning or objective , so it could be interpreted and theorized in so many ways , which i find beautiful.
madotsuki has two rooms in the game , one in the dream world , and the other in the dream world , accessible after she is asleep on her bed.
her room is not exactly large. however , there are various pieces of furniture , including a grey bed , a bookshelf , and a small desk acompanied with a green lamp, as well as garbage can beside it. there is also a pink conscole , a TV, and papers near a mat. outside madotsuki ' s room , she has a little balcony , where she could look outside. the sky around the balcony changes depending on the time of day as well.

there are 12 main worlds in yume nikki that are accessible through opening the door in her dream room. upon opening the door , the player is introduced to a room with 12 doors in a circle , each leading to each of the worlds.

| puddle world | puddle world consists of a few lamps , and endless falling rain accompanied by a black background. |

over the years , yume nikki became a small community of people who enjoy the game. many people showed the appreciation , by creating fangames. one of the oldest , and most popular fangames of yume nikki is yume 2kki. it was made as a collaborative project , made to be sort of like a sequel. the name " yume 2kki " itself was also a play on words - with 2 being like the second version , yet still sounding like " ni " like in yume nikki.
